Conchatus
Conchatus - Latin for 'Conch Like' - is part of a series where spiral forms attempt to capture the essence of chi, the force of life. I felt if I could capture the appearance of life itself out of stainless steel, the most dead material imaginable, it might be pretty powerful. Stainless steel defies decay. Everything succumbs eventually but not this material. Unmolested, this piece will last several thousand years. I love the idea of someone in 2325 digging it up and wondering 'What?'
