Continuum

Continuum is one of a series of loop sculptures that grew out playing with a springy loop of wire. Elaborate intricate shapes resulted. I used staples to tack the wire to a baseboard. Dowel sticks were used to hold the form in place while I gradually worked up a wire frame. This frame roughly defined this form. The frame was wrapped in cloth, covered in cement for strength and coated in plaster. The plaster was then carved to the shape of this finished piece. A delightful experience.
